KANO POLICE NAB FOUR SUSPECTS IN DRUG BUST.

The Kano State Police Command in Nigeria has detained four individuals suspected of possessing illicit substances, including cannabis sativa, in separate crackdowns. The arrests followed intelligence-driven patrols and raids by police operatives, aligning with the Inspector-General of Police’s directives on enhanced visibility policing.

According to CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Police Public Relations Officer, two suspects were apprehended on January 25, 2026, at around 3 pm by Fagge Division officers. The officers intercepted a tricycle with two sacks containing 157 parcels of suspected cannabis sativa at Triumph Roundabout. The suspects, Amadu Ado and Salisu Lurwanu, are from Kulliya Village, Bunkure Local Government Area, Kano State.

In another operation, the Rapid Response Team raided identified hotspots in Kano metropolis on January 24, 2026, arresting Usman Hamisu, 22, and Auwal Abdullahi, 25. Confiscated items included 40 pieces of suspected cannabis sativa, 20 pieces of rubber solution, and other illicit substances.

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori praised the operatives and urged residents to support security efforts, stating the command remains committed to combating drug trafficking and abuse in Nigeria.
