Officers of the Gombe State Police Command have seized 119 live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition abandoned close to a burial ground in Yamaltu Deba LGA.

According to police spokesperson DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the discovery followed credible intelligence received. Around 10:30 a.m., operatives moved to Kalshingi Road in Kwadon and found the rounds stashed in a sack beneath a tree near the cemetery.
The team also retrieved two empty ammunition sacks, a green bag, and two bottles containing moringa seeds at the location.
No arrests were made after a sweep of nearby bushes and the surrounding area, Abdullahi said on Wednesday. The Command has increased patrols and surveillance around Kwadon while efforts to trace those behind the hidden ammunition continue.
