The father of former Ebonyi State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kelechi Igwe, has been kidnapped. Mr. Francis Igwe was abducted on Sunday morning while driving to church in his Ndufu-Alike community. Armed men on a motorcycle intercepted his vehicle, forced him out, and took him away to an unknown location.

The Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Sunday Nwankwo, confirmed the incident and stated that the council is working with security agencies to gather information and facilitate his rescue. The Police Public Relations Officer, Joshua Ukandu, was unreachable for comment.
