Italian police have charged five men after a tourist reported being held and sexually assaulted in Rome for three days.

Authorities identified the suspects as Saidykhan Lamin, Karamba Kanteh, Harouna Traore, Isibor Wisdom, and Paul Nwabueze. Two of the men are Nigerian nationals. All five face charges of gang rape aggravated by taking advantage of a vulnerable person.
According to investigators, the woman was lured from a restaurant, taken to a building on the city’s outskirts, and held captive for 72 hours before escaping. Police said she named the five men as the main perpetrators.
Investigators are also looking into the roles of at least three other people linked to the case. That includes the person who lured her from the restaurant, the driver, and the owner of the location where she was held.
The suspects were arrested and moved to pre-removal detention centres as investigations continue.
