The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Samuel Inalegwu Okpala and Ezelibe Emmanuel Nzube for allegedly defrauding 32 victims of N35,395,000 through a fake investment scheme. The duo, along with Chibuike VincentDePaul Izundu (at large), allegedly lured victims into investing in Paybeta Digital Limited, promising 15-80% returns.

The victims were convinced to invest after being told the company dealt in recharge cards, electricity, DSTV, and GOTV subscriptions. The EFCC investigation revealed Okpala’s account was used to receive the funds, and incriminating messages linked the suspects to the fraud.
Okpala and Nzube were found with evidence, including a bank token meant for Nzube, and Nzube was also involved in romance scams. The suspects will be charged soon.
