The EFCC has taken former Power Minister Saleh Mamman into custody in Kaduna, days after a court sentenced him to 75 years in prison for fraud.

Chairman Ola Olukoyede said Mamman was picked up at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in Rigasa, along with two people accused of shielding him. The arrest followed weeks of tracking and was based on a court order for security agencies to detain him wherever found.

Mamman was convicted on May 7, 2026, on 12 counts of money laundering tied to the Mambilla and Zungeru power projects. The Federal High Court in Abuja ordered the sentences to run consecutively and directed the forfeiture of cash and four Abuja properties linked to him.
He’s now in EFCC custody, and the property where he was arrested is being investigated.
