Comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate Aderombi Adedayo Martins, popularly known as DeeOne, has emerged as the BOOT Party candidate for Lagos State House of Assembly. He won the ticket for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I ahead of the 2027 general elections.

DeeOne secured the nomination on Wednesday, June 4, 2026, after winning the party’s primary election. BOOT Party, which stands for “Because Of Our Tomorrow,” is registered and recognized by INEC. The comedian announced his victory in an Instagram post late Wednesday, thanking party members for trusting him with the mandate.
In his message to constituents, DeeOne pledged to prioritize service over authority if elected. “I want to thank my party, BOOT Party, for the confidence in voting for me to emerge winner of the primary election for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I,” he wrote. “To Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, come 2027, by the grace of God, I will be your worker and not your boss.”
The entertainer said his leadership approach would focus on grassroots development and representing residents’ interests in the Assembly. His emergence adds to the growing wave of Nigerian entertainers entering politics ahead of 2027, following Nollywood actress Esther Okereke who recently picked the NRM presidential ticket.
Ibeju-Lekki has become one of Lagos’ fastest-growing constituencies due to ongoing infrastructure projects and urban expansion, making the Assembly race there highly competitive.
