The Bauchi State Police Command has rolled out heightened security arrangements and published dedicated emergency hotlines ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The measures were confirmed in a statement released on Monday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, as part of efforts to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Sallah period across the state.

According to the statement, Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu extended greetings to Muslim faithful in Bauchi and nationwide while commending residents for their ongoing cooperation with security agencies. To safeguard lives and property, the Command has deployed conventional police officers alongside tactical and traffic personnel to prayer grounds, major highways, recreational centres, and other public spaces in all 20 local government areas.

The Command issued a stern warning to criminal elements, stating that anyone engaging in thuggery, reckless driving, use of fireworks, or other acts capable of breaching public peace would face decisive action. Parents and guardians were also urged to closely supervise their children and wards to prevent behavior that could lead to arrest and prosecution.

Residents were advised to stay vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, movements, or objects to the nearest police station. For immediate assistance, the Command provided three emergency lines: 08151849417, 07031961762, and 08050404039. The statement emphasized that public cooperation is key to sustaining the relative peace enjoyed in the state and ensuring that Eid-el-Kabir is marked without security breaches.
