Suspected bandits have released a video showing former Nigerian Army spokesperson, Major General Rabe Abubakar (retd), and his wife. The couple was reportedly abducted on May 30, 2026.

The footage began circulating on social media, including TikTok, five hours ago according to posts online. One of the clips was shared by an account identified as belonging to one of the captors.

Major Gen. Abubakar served as Director of Defence Information and later Army spokesperson before retiring. Details of the circumstances of the abduction and the current condition of the victims remain unconfirmed.

Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident or the authenticity of the video as of press time.
