ADC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES IN 8,809 WARDS MONDAY.

The African Democratic Congress has cleared three contenders to run in its nationwide direct presidential primaries slated for Monday, May 25, 2026, across all 8,809 wards as the party moves toward the 2027 elections.

The confirmed aspirants are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen. Each secured the party’s nomination form, priced at ₦100 million.

Party spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi said the ADC will first explore a consensus option among the three. If they do not agree, the party will proceed with a competitive primary vote.

Former Cross River Governor Liyel Imoke and former Kwara Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed have been appointed to chair key committees supervising the presidential primary process.

Under the ADC’s schedule, State Assembly, House of Reps, and Senate primaries held at ward level on May 21, followed by governorship primaries on May 22. The presidential primary closes out the timetable on May 25.
