Abia State Police Command has arrested two men suspected of armed robbery, cultism, and vandalizing government infrastructure.

According to a statement on Saturday from Police PRO DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, the arrests were made on May 6, 2026.
Michael Kalu, 21, from Afikpo North in Ebonyi State but living in Amuma Ohafia, Abia, was picked up by the Violent Crime Response Unit. Police said he is suspected of armed robbery and cultism. Recovered from him were one English pistol and one locally made pistol.
In a separate operation, Osisioma Divisional Police Headquarters arrested Obinna Chimezie, 23, of Borrowed Pit near Temple Gate on the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. He was caught allegedly vandalizing a gas pipeline supplying Geometric Power. Officers recovered a toy gun and dismantled a tent used for drug activity at the site.
Both suspects are being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department. Police said they will be charged once investigations are complete.
