According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the operations took place from September 16 to 26 across different parts of the state.

Babaseyi explained that the Command, under CP Bode Ojajuni, seized two suspected stolen vehicles, three guns and 25 ATM cards, alongside mobile phones and electrical fittings.

He also confirmed that eight vehicles were seized around the Sagamu Interchange Bridge during a special operation against illegal parking and traffic obstruction.

Giving details of the operations, the PPRO said operatives at Owode Egba Division acted on a report filed on September 16 and recovered a commercial motorcycle stolen at Mokoloki Village the next day. Two persons, Rasheed Abdul and Saula Meshinoye, were picked up, while a third suspect identified simply as Saheed is on the run.

In Ota, operatives of SWAT Base 7, Abule-Iroko, on September 21 stopped an unregistered tricycle and a TVS motorcycle at Dalemo and apprehended three men – 30-year-old Olamide Ayandele, 40-year-old Tope Samuel and 30-year-old Ayo Peter Ojo – believed to be involved in vehicle theft around Ijoko.

The Command also uncovered a suspected fraud syndicate in Igbesa where a 45-year-old man, Ameachine Anthony, was arrested on September 22 with 25 ATM cards. Police allege he used new SIM cards and third parties to open bank accounts and divert the ATM cards for fraud worth N2.5 million. The case has been moved to the State CID at Eleweran, Abeokuta.

In a separate cult-related operation same day, SWAT arrested 34-year-old Peter Olanrewaju, whose confession led to the arrest of 36-year-old Adebayo Sodiq and the seizure of one pump-action gun and two locally fabricated pistols.
