NDC chieftain, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerian politicians to prioritize unity and national interest over partisan politics.

Speaking yesterday as a special guest at the commissioning of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja, Obi was joined by Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, who is also the Leader of the APM.

The event was to unveil the campaign office of APM’s Presidential candidate, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede.

Obi, who is now running on the NDC platform alongside Rabiu Kwankwaso, used the opportunity to emphasize the need for a “New Nigeria” anchored on Unity, Love, Justice, mutual respect, and inclusion, especially as political campaigns get heated.

“Our shared love for our country should always be greater than our political differences,” he said. “This is my call to all contestants in the forthcoming elections.”

He urged candidates to focus debates on real issues insecurity, poverty, hunger, inequality, and the growing number of out-of-school children.

“Let us compete on ideas that will unite our people, improve their lives, and restore hope to our nation, while maintaining respect, decency, and love for one another,” Obi added.

He congratulated Governor Makinde, Governor Bala Mohammed, and all APM leaders and members on the milestone.

He ended with: “A New Nigeria is POssible.”
