The Kano State Police Command has trained 250 officers to strengthen border security and improve operational readiness across the state.

The training was conducted simultaneously at the Police Mobile Force bases in Hotoro and Challawa.

According to the Command, the officers underwent intensive drills in:

1. Weapon handling and marksmanship

2. Combat tactics and tactical manoeuvres

3. Crowd control

They were also trained on human rights, responsible use of firearms, community policing, police-public relations, and intelligence-led policing.

Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, addressed the officers during the closing ceremony. He charged them to remain vigilant, professional and responsive, while respecting the rights and dignity of citizens.

Bakori reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to continuous training and urged the officers to use their skills and weapons responsibly and justify the confidence placed in them.

The deployment is part of efforts to enhance security, particularly at border areas and other strategic locations in Kano State.
