Former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, was taken into custody at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, on Wednesday morning.

DSS operatives carried out the arrest at the airport, acting on a request from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. Nnaji was later transferred to ICPC custody, according to security officials.
The former minister, who left office in October 2025 following a contentious exit, had reportedly been invited several times by the ICPC over petitions linked to his stewardship of the ministry. Officials say the commission turned to the DSS after the invitations were not honoured.
There has been no public statement yet from the ICPC regarding the detention.
