The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission plans to arraign Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore President Bello Abdullahi Bodejo before the Federal High Court, Abuja, on charges tied to alleged terrorism financing and money laundering worth roughly $2.53 million.

EFCC lodged a 12-count information on June 22, 2026. Agency spokesman Dele Oyewale said Wednesday that Bodejo will enter a plea once the court assigns a date, after investigators accused him of handling huge cash sums believed to be proceeds of crime in violation of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act 2011 and the Money Laundering Prevention Act 2022.

Prosecutors claim Bodejo received several dollar payments in physical cash from former Bauchi Accountant-General Sa’idu Abubakar, bypassing banks contrary to legal thresholds. The charge sheet lists $100,000 on Jan 11, 2022, $200,000 on Jan 21, 2022, $500,000 on March 20, 2024, and $980,000 on Feb 7, 2024. A separate count alleges Bodejo took custody of $980,000 on Feb 7, 2024 under circumstances where he knew, or should have known, it was tainted money. EFCC said all counts attract penalties under the 2011 amended law and the 2022 law. Court date is pending.
