Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped the wife and young son of Yusuf Alhasan, the APC chairman for Yauri Local Government Area in Kebbi State.

According to reports, the assailants broke into Alhasan’s home in the Low-Cost district of Yauri around midnight on Monday. They whisked away two family members before escaping to an undisclosed location. The development was first shared by security commentator Bakatsine on X and later backed by Radio Nagari FM.
The woman is believed to be in her 30s while the boy is about 10 years old. As of the latest updates, their whereabouts remain unconfirmed. No group has claimed responsibility and no demand for ransom has surfaced, leaving relatives and neighbors anxious.
Officials from the Kebbi State Government and security agencies had not released any formal statement at the time of filing this report. Efforts by The Whistler to get a response from the Kebbi Police Command spokesperson did not yield results.
The incident has added to worries over growing insecurity across Kebbi, particularly in rural and semi-urban communities where security coverage is thin. Because Alhasan holds a key party position in Yauri, the attack could also disrupt local APC operations and political activities in the area.
