Military units in Lebanon announced on Sunday that they have finished repairs on a key southern road and regained partial access to a damaged bridge, both struck during recent Israeli operations. The update comes as the 10-day pause in fighting between Hezbollah and Israel remains in place.

According to the army, the stretch linking Nabatieh to the Khardali area is now fully open, while the Borj Rahal–Tyre crossing has been partially restored. Restoration work is also in progress on the Tayr Felsay–Tyre span, carried out with the Litani River Authority after it suffered hits in the conflict.
Attacks on structures spanning the Litani River had cut off much of the territory south of the waterway from the rest of Lebanon, officials said. Since the ceasefire began on Friday, April 17, 2026, soldiers and local crews have been removing rubble and reopening routes so displaced families can travel back and inspect their homes.
The Qasmiyeh crossing, considered essential for movement, was brought back into service on Friday morning. Though traffic toward the south has picked up, many residents are still uneasy about how long the lull in hostilities will last.
The truce follows weeks of clashes that left close to 2,300 dead and forced more than one million people from their homes.
