BAUCHI HANDS 186 VEHICLES TO TRADITIONAL RULERS.

The Bauchi State Government has distributed 186 official vehicles to traditional rulers across the state and commenced the construction of new palace complexes, state officials said on Monday, April 13, 2026.

The vehicles were presented to emirs, district heads, and village heads to support mobility and the day-to-day running of the traditional institutions. Government representatives said the move is aimed at strengthening the role of the traditional councils in grassroots governance, conflict resolution, and community development.

Alongside the vehicle handover, the state has started building and renovation works on several palaces. The projects are intended to upgrade facilities used for administrative duties, council meetings, and cultural events.

Bauchi State has recently created new emirates, including Toro, Lame, Lere, and Jama’a, with the government citing improved security coordination and service delivery as key goals. f062

Traditional rulers who received vehicles include Alhaji Umar Adamu, Emir of Toro/Lamido of Toro; Alhaji Ali Yakubu Lame, Emir of Lame; and Alhaji Nura Adamu Jumba, Emir of Lere, among others. f062

The state said the vehicles remain government property and are to be used for official duties.
