Meta has officially launched paid subscription plans for its three main apps, giving users access to extra features for a monthly fee.

Announced Wednesday by Head of Product Naomi Gleit, the new tiers Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus, and WhatsApp Plus are now rolling out worldwide. The company says the subscriptions are designed for users who want more control, personalization, and insights across the apps.

Instagram Plus & Facebook Plus: $3.99/month each. Unlock profile customization, super reactions, story insights like rewatch counts, unlimited Close Friends lists, story spotlighting, and the ability to post directly to your profile without hitting followers’ feeds.

WhatsApp Plus: $2.99/month. Focuses on messaging personalization with custom themes, ringtones, premium stickers, and more pinned chats.

Meta confirmed the Plus plans run alongside Meta Verified and won’t replace it. The company is also testing AI-focused subscriptions under the brand “Meta One,” with Meta One Plus at $7.99/month and Meta One Premium at $19.99/month for users who need higher limits on Meta AI’s creative and reasoning tools.

Meta says the free versions of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Meta AI will remain available. The paid launch comes as Meta ramps up spending on AI data centers, with projected capex of up to $145 billion in 2026.

The stock rose nearly 3% after the announcement as investors reacted to the new revenue stream.
