African Action Congress presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has outlined sweeping labour and housing reforms he says he will implement if elected president in 2027.

In posts on X on May 28, 2026, Sowore pledged to raise Nigeria’s minimum wage to ₦500,000 and end casualisation and contract staffing, which he described as exploitative and dehumanising.
“Workers are not slaves, disposable tools, or modern-day serfs,” he wrote. “Every worker deserves dignity, job security, fair wages, healthcare, pensions, and humane working conditions.”
On housing, Sowore promised to build 1 million decent public homes nationwide. He said the estates would be mixed-income and include schools, clinics, malls, theatres, playgrounds, and transport access, to avoid segregating low-income families.
“For too long, corrupt elites have hijacked land and houses meant for the people, using stolen public funds to build mansions they don’t even live in. That era will end,” he said.
Sowore accused the political class of mismanaging public resources while millions remain homeless and impoverished. The promises form part of his campaign platform for the 2027 general election.
