Nigeria and Poland have strengthened their bilateral ties, with a focus on digital economy, defence, and agriculture, following recent high-level talks. Vice President Kashim Shettima played a key role in these discussions, emphasizing Nigeria’s commitment to diversifying its economy and promoting regional cooperation.

The partnership includes tech innovation, startup development, and digital skills training, with Poland sharing its expertise in fintech and e-governance. Defence cooperation will involve military training, counter-terrorism, and equipment procurement, with Poland supporting Nigeria’s armed forces modernization.
In agriculture, the focus is on mechanized farming, agro-processing, and food security, with Poland providing technical support for irrigation and seed development. The two countries also plan to increase trade in agricultural products and establish joint ventures.
This cooperation aligns with Nigeria’s push for economic growth beyond oil, as stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs. Poland sees Nigeria as a key partner in West Africa and is committed to long-term collaboration.
