Forces under Operation HADIN KAI have scored new successes in the North East, freeing six captives, eliminating insurgents, and detaining a suspected collaborator during coordinated operations.

On May 14, 2026, troops acting on intelligence moved against a suspected crossing point along the Amuda–Gava corridor in the Mandara Mountains. The raid led to the rescue of six Ngoshe residents held by Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters—two women aged 52 and 50, and four children including a pair of nine-year-old twins.

The victims were received by Brig. Gen. Nasirudeen Abdullahi of the 26 Task Force Brigade, given medical care, and later reunited with their families through local leaders. Abdullahi said the operation to free all those abducted during the March 3 attack on Ngoshe is ongoing. A total of 60 women and children have now been rescued since that incident.

In Konduga LGA, soldiers engaged and killed two insurgents in Bazamri village, recovering food items and supplies thought to be for terrorist use. No military casualties were reported, and troops remain in the area to sustain pressure.

At a checkpoint in Mainé, Yobe State, 30-year-old Ibrahim Alhaji Julo was arrested while driving a red Golf car registered in Bauchi. Investigators allege he was moving militants and collecting illegal payments from communities. A mobile phone and cash were seized.

Operation HADIN KAI said the operations are part of efforts to dismantle terrorist cells, rescue hostages, and restore peace and economic activity in the region. Military authorities commended the troops and called for continued resolve.
