SPAIN STANDS FIRM AGAINST US PRESSURE OVER IRAN WAR.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has firmly rejected US President Donald Trump’s criticism of Madrid’s refusal to allow US planes to use its bases to attack Iran. “The position of the government of Spain can be summed up in four words: no to war,” Sanchez said in a televised address. He emphasized that Spain won’t be complicit in actions harmful to the world and contrary to its values and interests, despite Trump’s threat to sever trade ties.

Sanchez’s stance is shared by many governments and citizens across Europe, North America, and the Middle East who oppose further war and uncertainty. Trump had called Spain a “terrible” ally, citing Sanchez’s refusal to boost defense spending to 5% of GDP and opposition to Israel’s war in Gaza.
