A total of 92 kidnapped persons were rescued and eight vehicles recovered after troops of Operation HADIN KAI intercepted suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State.

Zagazola Makama reports that the May 23 operation was executed by the 135 Special Forces Battalion at Echo 1, Dutse Kura, along the Buratai–Kamuya route in Biu Local Government Area.

Surveillance systems picked up suspicious movement showing terrorists transferring civilians and vehicles into nearby bush paths. Troops from the Quick Reaction Force moved in immediately, with additional support from the 27 Task Force Brigade joining the pursuit toward Mangari-Dora.

A fierce firefight ensued. Faced with superior firepower, the terrorists abandoned the hostages and vehicles and fled deeper into the surrounding forest.

Military sources confirmed all 92 victims were freed without injury. The recovered vehicles are now in military custody as troops continue clearance and tracking operations in the area.
