Security operatives in Ogun State have apprehended 30 men following an operation that halted what police describe as an unlawful cult ceremony in Isara-Remo.

Acting on credible intelligence, the Violent Crime Response Unit moved in with personnel from the Isara Area Command and local division. They stormed an unfinished building where the group had converged. Those detained include Muiz Olawale, Adeniji Akinwale, Ajayi Victor, and 27 other males suspected of taking part in initiation activities while drinking alcohol.
During the sweep, officers seized four cars, a jack knife, traditional musical instruments including a drum and sekere, plus several bottles of suspected liquor. The command said the items were logged as evidence.
All 30 individuals are now at the State Criminal Investigation Department undergoing further questioning. Authorities stated they will be charged to court once investigations wrap up.
The Ogun Commissioner of Police has reiterated that operations targeting secret cult groups will not stop, and called on anyone involved to step away from cultism and criminal behavior.
