Operation HADIN KAI has recorded another major breakthrough with the surrender of two senior terrorist commanders to troops of Sector 2 in Geidam, Yobe State on July 4, 2026.

The commanders, identified as Munzirs within the terrorist leadership structure, arrived Maiduguri at about 7:30pm on July 5, 2026 and are currently in military custody undergoing profiling, debriefing and intelligence exploitation.
Military sources said preliminary interrogation revealed that both men occupied influential positions in the group and have detailed knowledge of its operations, command structure and logistics network.
Initial information obtained during debriefing has already provided valuable insights into the terrorists’ methods of operation, sustainment systems and support networks. The military said the intelligence is expected to boost ongoing operations aimed at locating, disrupting and dismantling remaining terrorist enclaves across the North East theatre.
The Defence Headquarters described the surrender as another major setback for the terrorist faction and proof that sustained offensive operations are yielding results.
It noted that coordinated land and air operations, combined with enhanced intelligence gathering, have continued to restrict terrorist movement, degrade combat capability and weaken command structures.
According to the statement, increasing numbers of terrorist leaders and fighters now consider continued resistance untenable and are choosing to abandon the insurgency and surrender to troops.
“Operation HADIN KAI remains resolute in maintaining operational momentum until all terrorist elements are neutralised or compelled to surrender,” the statement added.
Troops said they will continue to exploit actionable intelligence, intensify offensive operations and work with stakeholders to eliminate the terrorist threat and restore peace and stability in the North East.
