
The UAE Ministry of Defence has announced that the country’s air force and air defence forces have successfully intercepted a significant number of Iranian attacks, including 165 ballistic missiles, 2 cruise missiles, and 541 drones, since the start of the aggression on February 28, 2026. As of the second day of the attack, they destroyed 20 ballistic missiles, while 8 missiles fell into the sea, and also intercepted 2 cruise missiles and 311 drones, although 21 drones managed to strike civilian targets.
The attacks have resulted in 3 fatalities, including Pakistani, Nepali, and Bangladeshi nationals, and 58 minor injuries among various nationalities, including Emiratis, Egyptians, Ethiopians, Filipinos, Pakistanis, Iranians, Indians, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans, Azerbaijanis, Yemenis, Ugandans, Eritreans, Lebanese, and Afghans. Debris from intercepted missiles has caused minor to moderate material damage to a number of civilian properties.
The UAE ministry has affirmed the capability of the country’s air force and air defence to address various threats, stating that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remains a top priority that cannot be compromised. The ministry has also expressed its full readiness to address any threats, emphasizing its commitment to protecting the country and its people.
