President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Lebara Nigeria on its official launch, describing the milestone as a strong vote of confidence in Nigeria’s digital economy and its future as a leading technology and investment destination in Africa. According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information & Strategy, Nigeria’s telecommunications sector is a significant economic driver, contributing 14% to the nation’s GDP with a 5.78% year-on-year growth in Q3 2025.

The President praised Lebara Nigeria’s leadership, including CEO Mrs. Teniola Stuffman, for expanding telecom access, creating jobs, and strengthening digital infrastructure. He emphasized that such investments drive financial inclusion, innovation, and economic growth.

President Tinubu also acknowledged the British High Commission’s support, highlighting Nigeria’s openness to responsible foreign investment and strategic partnerships. He recognized the Advisory Board’s contributions, assuring a stable, investment-friendly environment.
