Security forces have rescued 10 out of the 15 National Youth Service Corps members abducted by suspected kidnappers in Kogi State last Friday.

The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Michael Onoja, disclosed on Monday that the corps members were rescued at Egume Forest in Ofu Local Government Area.

Speaking to journalists at the Defence Headquarters, DHQ, Onoja said the operation to rescue the remaining 5 victims and apprehend the kidnappers is still ongoing.

The NYSC members were abducted on Friday while travelling from Abuja to Bayelsa State after completing their orientation camp.

Authorities have not yet released details of the condition of the rescued corps members or the identities of the abductors.
