Afrobeats star Davido has called on US President Donald Trump and the international community to pay attention to the situation in Osun State ahead of the upcoming elections.

In a post on X on Monday, the singer said there are “growing concerns about the possibility of violence, intimidation and disruption of the democratic process” in Osun.

He wrote:

“President Donald Trump, I am calling your attention to the situation in Osun State as we approach the election.”

Davido added that people deserve to exercise their constitutional right to vote “freely, peacefully, and without fear.”

He appealed to the United States and the international community to “encourage all relevant authorities that every voter is protected and every vote is respected.”

“We do not want bloodshed. We do not want intimidation. We want peace, transparency, free and fair election,” he concluded. He tagged @realDonaldTrump in the post.

Osun State is preparing for elections and concerns about security and voter intimidation have been raised by different stakeholders in recent weeks.

The post has since gone viral with over 22K views and 400+ likes within 1 hour.
