The Zamfara State Police Command has taken a suspect into custody in Gusau over alleged involvement in violent offences and acts that breached public peace, security sources confirmed.

According to the Command, the arrest is part of renewed operations to curb youth violence, criminal activity, and threats to safety within the state capital and surrounding areas.

Police said the suspect is linked to several incidents currently under probe, including breaches of public order and other offences. He is being questioned by detectives as investigations continue.

The case has since been handed over to specialised investigative units for deeper inquiry to establish the full extent of his alleged role. Authorities stressed that the suspect remains innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.

The Command restated its commitment to protecting lives and property, and called on residents to volunteer credible information that can aid crime prevention and arrests.
