Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps has fired missiles and deployed drones against US military facilities in Jordan and Bahrain, raising alarm across the Gulf.

According to statements from Tehran broadcast by state media Wednesday, the attacks targeted Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan and the US naval command in Bahrain. The Guard Corps said multiple long-range missiles struck locations at Al-Azraq, including areas linked to jet operations and military coordination centres. Unmanned aircraft were also used against Bahrain’s US Fifth Fleet base.
The move came hours after Washington carried out strikes on Iranian air defence and radar positions near the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump earlier claimed Iran brought down an American Apache helicopter in that area on Tuesday.
Jordan’s armed forces said they intercepted several incoming missiles above Al-Azraq and reported no injuries. In Bahrain, authorities activated air raid sirens and told civilians to take cover while defence systems responded. The US Department of Defense has not released details on damage.
Analysts say this is the most serious escalation since a ceasefire deal in April. Iran cautioned Gulf nations that hosting US bases could make them targets if used against Tehran.
