A joint security team under Operation EASTERN SANITY II has broken up a suspected criminal base in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, seizing explosive materials and detaining three people.

The early morning raid happened at about 4:30 a.m. on May 23, 2026. Troops based in Oji River, working with Keystone personnel from the LGA, moved into a building in Achi Town after receiving credible intelligence that it was being used by cultists and other outlaws.

Eight motorcycles and two buckets containing locally produced gunpowder believed to be intended for unlawful use were recovered from the premises. Three suspects were picked up during the operation. They are Ozor Benjamin, 85, of Isikwe Achi, and Miracle Eze, 26, and Ogechukwu Okorie, 29, both from Umuoka Achi in Oji River LGA.

The suspects and all seized items have been handed to Keystone Oji River for further investigation and necessary action.
