Officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have seized military ammunition and thousands of tramadol tablets in two separate operations targeting drug concealment.

The agency said the ammunition was found concealed inside bags of cassava flakes, known locally as garri. In a separate interception, operatives discovered a large consignment of tramadol 225mg tablets hidden inside a keg of palm oil.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi stated that the finds occurred during routine searches for hidden narcotics. He explained that such operations sometimes reveal other items that threaten public safety.
Details of the seizures, including video clips, were posted on the agency’s X account on Sunday. Babafemi said the incidents show the variety of illicit items officers come across during anti-narcotics work and confirmed that investigations are still underway.
