Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara declined to speak to reporters after appearing before the All Progressives Congress governorship screening committee on Sunday. The screening took place at the Plateau State Governors’ Lodge in Abuja.

As Fubara left the venue, journalists tried to get his comments on the exercise, but he walked past without responding, only saying “No comment.”
The brief appearance adds to the political tension in Rivers State, where Fubara’s relationship with the APC and his former ally Nyesom Wike has been a subject of speculation ahead of the party’s primaries.
