The Delta State Police Command has reported significant gains in its anti-crime operations between February and April 2026, with the recovery of 45 firearms, the rescue of nine kidnap victims, and the seizure of four vehicles suspected to have been stolen.

According to the command’s records, the recovered weapons include nine AK-47 rifles, eleven Beretta pistols, twenty-one cut-to-size locally made guns, and four pump-action shotguns, alongside 188 rounds of ammunition. The operations also led to the safe rescue of nine individuals who had been abducted by criminal gangs across different parts of the state.

The command said the successes were achieved through intelligence-led raids, stop-and-search operations, and coordinated patrols aimed at dismantling criminal networks and restoring public safety. Authorities confirmed that the four recovered vehicles are being processed for possible return to their rightful owners after verification.

Reaffirming its stance, the Delta State Police Command stated that it will not relent in its efforts to combat crime and criminality, and urged residents to continue providing timely information to support ongoing security operations.
